After almost an hour of web surfing, YouTube watching and desperate attempts to repeat all that numerous people say, I finally discovered the truth. No, the TRUTH about how to reset the little bastard.
So, in order to help anyone with the same problem, here is a definitive guide. Tested and working 100%. Mostly for those who have forgotten their login, but do recall the SIM code.
- use the cable to connect your phone to the computer. Do not know why but if you fail to do so (like, why should I, the thing is already charged at 95%), you will not get a recovery screen. Funny, but true.
- Hold POWER and VOLUME DOWN at the same time. Continue holding until your phone shuts down
- Once you see a totally dark screen, change the key combination to POWER and VOLUME UP. The phone will restart.
- Release buttons once you see the Samsung logo. Does not seem to matter if you release at the logo itself or when it change to an advanced «protected by Knox» version.
- At theis point, you will see a recovery menu. Use VOL UP and VOL DOWN to navigate, POWER as «Enter».
